On Wednesday, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced its proposal to approve three dicamba herbicide products, following a federal court's temporary suspension of the herbicide in 2024. The EPA asserts that dicamba poses minimal risks to human health and the environment, and intends to implement stringent usage limitations, including quantity and timing restrictions, to further minimize potential hazards. Dicamba, noted for its high water solubility and low volatility, is effectively used to manage persistent weeds; however, environmental groups remain concerned about its potential adverse effects on adjacent vegetation.
