From July 20 to 22, 2025, Chen Jiachang, Vice Minister of China's Ministry of Science and Technology, embarked on a visit to Tajikistan. The purpose of this visit was to foster deeper scientific and technological collaboration between the two nations and to carry forward the spirit of the Central Peripheral Work Conference and the Second China-Central Asia Summit. During his stay, Chen Jiachang and his delegation held the fourth meeting of the China-Tajikistan Science and Technology Cooperation Committee, where they reviewed past cooperation achievements and reached a consensus on various aspects, including scientific and technological humanities exchanges, joint research and development projects, and collaboration in key areas.

Chen Jiachang also engaged in talks with officials from Tajikistan's Ministry of Education and Science and visited local scientific research institutions. A highlight of the visit was the joint unveiling of a plaque for the China-Tajikistan Joint Laboratory for Biological Resources Conservation and Sustainable Utilization. The event was attended by personnel from relevant scientific research institutions and local science and technology departments, underscoring the significance of this collaboration.
