The bond ETF market has witnessed a remarkable expansion this year, fueled by concerted efforts from both the market-making benchmark credit ETF and the sci-tech innovation bond ETF. According to Choice data, as of July 22, the cumulative size of bond ETFs surpassed RMB 500 billion, marking a nearly threefold increase from the end of last year. Notably, the newly listed sci-tech innovation bond ETF experienced a dramatic scale increase, jumping from approximately RMB 29 billion to nearly RMB 100 billion within just three trading days.
Industry experts attribute this growth to multiple factors, including policy support, capital inflows, and the continuous enhancement of the market environment. Bond ETFs are now entering a golden era of development and are poised to become a cornerstone of bond index funds in the future.
