Castle Securities has urged the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to adopt a more prudent stance in fostering the development of "tokenized" securities. SEC Chairman Paul Atkins has disclosed that the SEC is streamlining traditional securities regulations to facilitate the issuance of tokenized securities by corporations. In a letter of comment submitted to the SEC's Cryptocurrency Task Force on Monday, Castle Securities voiced concern that this initiative might lead to investor disarray and establish an uneven competitive landscape between exchanges and listed companies. Tokenized securities are digital representations of traditional securities that can be traded on blockchain networks without the necessity of a brokerage account. By fractionalizing stocks or other assets into smaller units, the cost of holding these assets is minimized.
