On Sunday, Block CEO and Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey introduced an open-source chat application named Bitchat. Leveraging a decentralized architecture, Bitchat operates within a Bluetooth Low Energy mesh network, enabling ephemeral encrypted messaging for fully offline chatting. This design provides a secure and private communication environment, ideal for discussing sensitive topics and safeguarding privacy. Notably, the app does not require internet connectivity, servers, or phone numbers, relying solely on encrypted communication.
