The Linux kernel development team has merged a new round of HID subsystem updates into the Linux 7.4 kernel currently under development. A major highlight of this update is the preliminary support for the Nintendo Switch 2 controller driver, with related work completed by Valve developer Vicki Pfau and incorporated into the mainline Linux kernel after 16 rounds of patch revisions. Additionally, the new version introduces a driver for the Pulsar gaming mouse and optimizes hardware support for certain AMD processors, the Apple Touch Bar, and the ASUS ROG Ally handheld gaming console.
