Michał Kobosko, the lead negotiator for the European Parliament concerning the Digital Networks Act, expressed that the EU is pushing forward with reforms to its telecommunications regulations. It is imperative to stop Elon Musk's SpaceX from gaining control over Europe's mobile communications and broadband sectors. He denounced the European Commission's initial plan as unambitious, noting its failure to sufficiently protect Europe's technological autonomy, create a unified market for the telecommunications sector, and guarantee equitable relationships. At present, EU member states are still in the process of deliberating a unified stance on the legislation. Ireland has formulated a compromise proposal; however, it has yet to tackle sensitive and contentious matters.
