On the evening of October 21, CATL unveiled the latest advancements in its share repurchase initiative, revealing that the company had acquired 3.4886 million shares at a total cost of RMB 800 million. Cumulatively, the amount repurchased in this round has now soared to RMB 4.607 billion. The preceding day, CATL published its financial results for the third quarter of 2026, indicating that the profit growth rate for the quarter fell marginally short of market forecasts. Specifically, the quarterly revenue surged to RMB 165.221 billion, marking a 58.58% year-on-year increase; while the net profit attributable to shareholders climbed to RMB 21.246 billion, up 14.54% from the previous year.

Institutional analysts posit that factors such as shifts in product mix and tax rate modifications influenced the quarterly performance. Nevertheless, numerous institutions also highlighted that these elements would merely cause temporary disruptions to short-term performance, without altering the mid-to-long-term demand outlook for the industry. Goldman Sachs underscored that CATL's current stock price excessively reflects industry risks and stressed that “the market underestimates CATL's resilience as a global frontrunner in lithium batteries.”

A deeper dive into the financial report unveils that CATL's core fundamentals remain robust, and the company is proactively exploring new growth avenues across various domains, including energy storage and battery swapping. Given the company's undervalued status, multiple institutions consider it a prime candidate for investment allocation, offering significant value.
