HSBC announced today that its upcoming stablecoin has been officially named 'HSBC RedCoin.' A survey covering over a thousand local customers revealed that local consumers are ready to embrace stablecoins. HSBC stated that the survey results support its phased approach to launching the stablecoin. The initial phase will focus on person-to-person (P2P) and person-to-merchant (P2M) payments, starting with use cases closely related to daily life, before expanding into the industrial and commercial banking and corporate sectors, keeping pace with the development of digital assets and currencies in Hong Kong.
