The U.S. federal trade agency announced on Wednesday that it has launched an investigation into alleged patent infringement by Samsung Electronics, Apple, and Google regarding specific audio technology patents. The investigation was disclosed on the official website of the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC), following a complaint filed last month by California-based BoomCloud 360. BoomCloud 360 claims that certain audio technologies used by these tech giants infringe upon three of its patents and has requested that the ITC prohibit the import, sale, and distribution of related products within the United States. Samsung, Apple, and Google are required to respond to the complaint within 20 days of receiving notice.
