As reported by Reuters, following the notable successes of U.S. suicide drones guided by SpaceX's Starlink network in military operations against Iran, SpaceX executives argue that the Pentagon should compensate them more generously for utilizing their satellite-based Wi-Fi service. Shortly after a series of U.S. bombing raids, SpaceX representatives convened with Pentagon officials, highlighting a discrepancy: the military was paying approximately $5,000 per terminal, while actually availing themselves of a premium service worth close to $25,000. Over recent months, tensions have escalated between the two entities concerning Starlink's pricing structure, with particular contention arising over the deployment of Starlink on "Lucas" suicide drones. Amid heightened military actions against Iran, the Pentagon eventually acquiesced to SpaceX's demand for a price surge, effectively nearly doubling the expense associated with each "Lucas" drone.
