In response to the growing demand for enhanced memory capacity, Microsoft has announced its intention to release a new iteration of the Surface Laptop in 2026, featuring 8GB of RAM. This model will be priced starting at $1,299.99 (equivalent to approximately RMB 8,867 at the prevailing exchange rate). Concurrently, the existing Surface Laptop models with 16GB and 24GB RAM options are now available for purchase in select markets, with pricing beginning at $1,499.99.
Some industry analysts have weighed in, noting that while 8GB of RAM may suffice for everyday computing tasks, it might not fully harness the Surface's AI-driven capabilities during intensive multitasking scenarios. Specifically, functions such as semantic search and Windows Recall could experience limitations due to the constrained memory resources.
