On April 26, Trina Solar’s National Key Laboratory of Photovoltaic Science and Technology revealed that its independently developed new THBC hybrid passivated back-contact cell has received certification from Germany’s Institute for Solar Energy Research in Hamelin (ISFH), attaining a remarkable maximum conversion efficiency of 28.00%. This milestone marks the first instance of surpassing the 28.0% efficiency threshold for 210R large-area cells, setting a new benchmark in crystalline silicon cell performance. Trina Solar is now expediting the industrialization of modules built on its established THBC pilot line, with anticipated power outputs exceeding 700W for industry-standard medium-sized modules (measuring 2382mm*1134mm). Additionally, new-generation products leveraging THBC technology are set to be introduced in the near future.
