On April 21st Beijing time, Apple announced that John Ternus, Senior Vice President of Hardware Engineering, will succeed as CEO starting from September 1, 2026. Current CEO Tim Cook will transition to the role of Executive Chairman and continue serving as CEO until summer to facilitate a smooth transition. Meanwhile, Johny Srouji has been appointed as Chief Hardware Officer. Following the announcement, Apple's stock price fell by 1% in after-hours trading in the U.S.
