On the afternoon of March 29th, the Major Achievements Press Conference of the 2026 Zhongguancun Forum Annual Conference took place, showcasing a plethora of scientific and technological breakthroughs. One standout achievement was the "World's Highest Magnetic Field Full Superconducting User Magnet." Earlier in January of the same year, this full superconducting user magnet, a collaborative effort by the Institute of Electrical Engineering and the Institute of Physics at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, successfully attained a central magnetic field strength of 35.6 tesla, thereby setting a new global benchmark. This milestone indicates that China has now achieved an internationally leading position in the realm of high-temperature superconducting applications, offering solid technical backing for research in material science, life science, nuclear fusion, and beyond.
