On March 29, 2026, the Chinese Academy of Science and Technology for Development unveiled the National Innovation Index Report 2025 at the Zhongguancun Forum. The report constructs a comprehensive indicator system spanning five key dimensions: innovation resources, knowledge creation, enterprise innovation, innovation performance, and innovation governance. Using this framework, it evaluates the innovation capabilities of 60 countries worldwide. The findings reveal that China’s National Innovation Index now ranks 9th globally, marking a one-position improvement from the previous year and underscoring its steady progress toward becoming a global leader in science and technology.
