On March 27, Yu Weining, the Chief Statistician of the Industrial Department at the National Bureau of Statistics, highlighted that the profits of high-tech manufacturing have witnessed a swift upswing, with its pivotal role becoming increasingly prominent. During the January-February period this year, the profits of high-tech manufacturing enterprises above a designated size soared by 58.7% year-on-year. This growth rate marked a substantial 45.4-percentage-point increase compared to the entire previous year. These enterprises' contribution to the profit growth of all industrial enterprises above a designated size reached 7.9 percentage points, with their pulling effect strengthening by 5.5 percentage points compared to the previous year as a whole.
Analyzed by industry, the manufacturing of intelligent products stood out prominently. Specifically, the profits in the manufacturing sectors of intelligent unmanned aerial vehicles, intelligent in-vehicle devices, and other intelligent consumer devices surged by 59.3%, 50.0%, and 31.3%, respectively. Furthermore, industries related to the semiconductor supply chain also experienced rapid profit growth. Notably, the profits in the manufacturing of semiconductor discrete devices, optoelectronic devices, and electronic circuits increased by 130.5%, 56.1%, and 19.5%, respectively.
