Liu Jingkang, the founder of Insta360, has released a statement following the company’s conclusive victory in the 337 Investigation. In his remarks, Liu extended his appreciation to the legal team, the law firm involved, the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC), and the presiding judges. He also took a moment to acknowledge GoPro’s pioneering contributions to the action camera sector. Liu Jingkang emphasized that Insta360 would not initiate legal action against competitors who, in good faith, utilize the valid technology patents from Insta360’s Ace series. The drawn-out '337 Investigation' case, which spanned nearly two years and involved Insta360 Innovations in the United States, culminated in a sweeping triumph for Insta360. Out of the six patents asserted by GoPro, five invention patents were deemed either non-infringing or invalid, while only one design patent pertained to some older-generation products that are no longer exported to the U.S.—current products do not infringe upon these patents. Insta360 had previously clarified that the investigation had not significantly affected its production or operations, with the company experiencing robust business growth throughout the investigation period. By 2025, its revenue is projected to approach 10 billion yuan, marking a new record high.
