The 10-megawatt wind turbine units at the China Datang Lianxing Wind Farm—the largest single-unit-capacity wind power project in Southwest China—have officially been connected to the grid for power generation. This achievement marks a significant milestone in the deployment of high-capacity wind turbines in China’s mountainous regions. Located in Yuxi, Yunnan Province, the project features a total of 71 wind turbines with a combined installed capacity of 149 megawatts. Among these, the 10-megawatt turbines stand at a hub height of 121 meters, boast a rotor diameter of 222 meters, and have a maximum blade-sweep area equivalent to nearly six standard football fields.
