Eutelsat announced on Wednesday that it has secured approximately €1 billion (US$1.2 billion) in export credit financing for the procurement of its OneWeb low-Earth orbit satellites. The financing, guaranteed by the French government, will support a contract with Airbus for the purchase of 340 satellites. However, the disbursement of the funds is contingent upon conditions such as Eutelsat issuing bonds.
