The U.S. National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) has opted to terminate its protracted legal battle with Musk's SpaceX and subtly suggested steering clear of initiating future lawsuits against the company. This decision is rooted in the board's assertion of a lack of jurisdiction over the matter. Two years prior, the NLRB had alleged that SpaceX had wrongfully terminated eight engineers involved in drafting an open letter criticizing Musk. However, the board has now chosen to dismiss the case. Citing the opinion of the National Mediation Board (NMB), the NLRB committee stated that SpaceX engineers should be subject to the NMB's jurisdiction, thereby rejecting the initial allegations. In August of the previous year, an appellate court endorsed the stance of companies akin to SpaceX, effectively barring the NLRB from pursuing legal action against them. It is noteworthy that the NMB is responsible for overseeing railroads and airlines, whereas the NLRB regulates the majority of other private-sector employers, with employees in these two sectors enjoying protection under distinct legal frameworks.
