On February 7th, Tesla executives disclosed on an online platform that Tesla (TSLA.O) is currently in the process of recruiting staff to support founder Musk's ambition of transforming Tesla into the preeminent producer of solar modules in the United States. Posts related to this reveal that Tesla is vigorously pursuing Musk's grand vision of launching a 100-gigawatt solar power generation project within the country. Furthermore, informed sources have stated that Tesla is assessing several potential sites across the United States, with the intention of commencing solar cell manufacturing. This strategy encompasses boosting the production capacity of its factory in Buffalo, New York, potentially up to 10 gigawatts—a level of output comparable to that of 10 nuclear power plants. Looking ahead, Tesla is also contemplating the construction of a second factory in New York State, with Arizona and Idaho also being considered as viable options.
