Microsoft has made an announcement stating that, commencing with the Windows 11 Preview Build 27965 for the Canary channel, which was rolled out in October 2025, forthcoming iterations of Windows will cease to incorporate the outdated .NET Framework 3.5 component. This particular component will be excised from the 'Optional Features' roster and will instead be disseminated via an independent installation package. This modification is set to have an impact on subsequent test and release versions of the operating system.
