On December 29, Brazil's Administrative Council for Economic Defense (Cade) declared its unconditional approval of SoftBank Group's acquisition of ABB's robotics division. Earlier, in October of the same year, ABB had announced its decision to offload its robotics business unit to SoftBank Group, valuing the corporate entity at $5.375 billion, thereby shelving its initial plans for an independent public offering.
