On December 18 (local time), Trump Media & Technology Group (DJT) and TAE Technologies, a private nuclear fusion energy firm, unveiled a merger plan. The objective is to tap into nuclear fusion energy as a power source for artificial intelligence. As reported by The Wall Street Journal, this all-stock deal is projected to be finalized by mid-2026, boasting a transaction value of $6 billion. Once the merger is complete, shareholders from both entities will each possess roughly 50% of the newly formed company's stock. The freshly minted company intends to kick off the construction of a 50-megawatt, utility-scale nuclear fusion power plant in 2026. Moreover, it aspires to establish additional nuclear fusion stations, with capacities spanning from 350 to 500 megawatts, aiming to achieve its inaugural power generation milestone by 2031.
