According to Qunar's big data on February 12, search interest in "lantern shows" for the Lantern Festival doubled compared to the previous month, and ticket sales for lantern-themed scenic spots witnessed a 20% year-on-year increase. Cities hosting lantern appreciation events included Zigong in Sichuan, Guangzhou and Shenzhen in Guangdong, Wuhan in Hubei, Quanzhou in Fujian, Hangzhou in Zhejiang, Suzhou in Jiangsu, Shanghai, and Tianjin, among others. Hotel bookings in these locations rose by over 10% year-on-year. Following the Lantern Festival, as students return to school, airfare prices are expected to decrease by 30% compared to during the Spring Festival period.
