To capitalize on the burgeoning demand for AI services, Ambani is sourcing high-performance AI chips from NVIDIA. Tech titans like Microsoft, Google, and Amazon are also investing heavily in data center infrastructure. The scale of Ambani's project is unprecedented; the current largest data center in the world has a capacity of less than 1 gigawatt. This initiative will substantially enhance India's data center capacity by roughly two-fold, providing a significant boost to the nation's AI development. Reliance Industries intends to primarily harness renewable energy for powering the data center but may also utilize fossil fuels as a backup source. By 2030, global demand for data center capacity is anticipated to more than triple.
