On July 28, the National Data Bureau convened a press conference in Beijing for the 2026 China International Big Data Industry Expo. During the event, Yu Ying, the Deputy Director of the National Data Bureau, elucidated the role of data in fueling artificial intelligence development. This includes fostering business model innovations centered around tokens and investigating new trading paradigms, such as token trading, to cultivate a market consensus centered on the principle of "rewarding high-quality data." Simultaneously, the bureau is committed to intensifying the utilization of tokens across various sectors, including manufacturing, healthcare, and finance. The goal is to facilitate the widespread adoption of artificial intelligence and establish a self-sustaining 'data flywheel' ecosystem. In this ecosystem, model applications spur data supply, which, in turn, powers model refinement and iteration.
