This innovative feature empowers users to effortlessly resume unfinished tasks and ongoing conversations directly from their PC taskbar with a simple click, eliminating the need to handle their phone when messages from third-party apps arrive on their mobile device. Presently, the feature is compatible with applications like OneDrive and Spotify, and is set to expand its compatibility to encompass a wider array of third-party Android apps in the near future. Developers are merely required to offer both Android and PC versions of their apps and submit an application for access. Microsoft intends to incorporate the Cross-Device Continuation API through the system's inherent notification mechanism, streamlining the connection process for more Android apps. Moreover, Microsoft has devised intelligent logic to govern file-opening procedures, currently enabling the opening of online files within desktop apps, with aspirations to progressively introduce support for local files down the line.
