IBM announced today that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire privately-held HRL Laboratories, LLC (HRL), which is jointly owned by Boeing and General Motors. Following the close of the transaction, Boeing and General Motors will continue to collaborate with IBM in quantum applications and advanced technologies. Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed and are subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals, with the transaction expected to close by the end of the third quarter of 2026.
