OpenAI is expanding its data center scale and increasing its computing power spending budget, raising the forecast for computing power expenditures in 2030 from approximately $600 billion to about $750 billion. To this end, OpenAI is reaching new agreements with cloud computing service providers to acquire computing power. Meanwhile, OpenAI plans to invest $20 billion in Effingham County, Georgia, to launch the 'Camellia' data center project, with an estimated total cost exceeding $30 billion. The project has signed a contract with Georgia Power to secure a 3.2-gigawatt power supply between 2028 and 2032, and the facility may become one of OpenAI's largest data centers to date. Additionally, OpenAI has hired Brent Mayo, who previously participated in Musk's data center construction projects, to advance this initiative.
