On July 22, The Information reported, citing three well-informed sources, that SpaceX AI—the artificial intelligence venture owned by Musk—is pressing ahead with plans to build at least one new large-scale data center in Texas. Should the project materialize, SpaceX AI will significantly bolster its AI computing capabilities, extending beyond its current data center hub in Memphis, Tennessee. Over recent months, SpaceX AI has been scouting multiple potential locations across Texas and exploring strategies to establish multiple data centers, either through constructing new facilities or repurposing existing warehouses. In anticipation of this expansion, SpaceX AI has already reassigned some of its data center personnel to Texas.
