Nevertheless, the existing power transmission systems, which are outdated and inefficient, are finding it difficult to cope with the immense power demands. As a result, power supply bottlenecks have emerged as a significant obstacle, impeding the progress of data center construction. In a recent move to mitigate the energy, environmental, and community repercussions, New York State has temporarily halted the approval of large-scale data center projects with a power load of 50 megawatts or higher for a duration of one year.
