On July 5th, according to Nikkei, as AI demand expands from semiconductors to a broader range of electronic components, MinebeaMitsumi will invest 58 billion yen (approximately $360 million) to expand its production capacity for precision bearings used in cooling equipment and storage devices for AI data centers. The Japanese manufacturer plans to invest in its Southeast Asian production bases, increasing total bearing production capacity by about 30% to over 500 million units per month. The company plans to introduce advanced equipment to boost production efficiency by about 60%, with construction expected to begin this year and production starting as early as fiscal year 2028.
