During the initial five-month period of 2026, the aggregate mobile internet traffic soared to 181.2 billion GB, reflecting a robust year-on-year growth of 17.9%. The user base expanded to 1.634 billion, witnessing a net addition of 24.12 million users compared to the end of the preceding year. In the month of May alone, the average mobile internet data usage per user (DOU) climbed to 24.01 GB per user per month, showcasing a year-on-year surge of 12.7% and an incremental rise of 0.97 GB per user per month from the figure recorded at the end of the previous year.
