On June 23, the latest list of the world's top 500 supercomputers was announced at the International Supercomputing Conference in Hamburg, Germany. China's supercomputer, LingSheng, claimed the championship with a sustained double-precision floating-point performance of 219.8 petaflops per second, followed by the United States' El Capitan with 180.9 petaflops. As the world's first supercomputing system with sustained performance exceeding 2 exaflops, LingSheng comprehensively leads existing international exascale supercomputers, marking China's return to a world-leading position in supercomputing.
