On June 18, 2026, Huawei made public its decision to set the patent royalty fee for Wi-Fi 7 devices at a mere $0.5 per unit. In line with the FRAND (Fair, Reasonable, and Non-Discriminatory) principles, users are entitled to secure licenses either through bilateral licensing arrangements or by participating in patent pools. By the close of 2024, Huawei had already licensed its Wi-Fi-related patents to over 1.2 billion consumer electronic devices, marking a significant milestone in its intellectual property endeavors.
