Japan's SoftBank Group is advancing an infrastructure project centered around a data center, located in Ohio, USA, with CEO Masayoshi Son stating that the investment in a single campus will reach $500 billion. US Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick indicated that this will be the largest construction project in US history. The project is expected to require up to 10 gigawatts of electricity, with the first phase covering 800 megawatts of power and costing between $30 billion and $40 billion, scheduled for completion in early 2028. SoftBank also plans to construct natural gas power generation facilities with a total value of approximately $33 billion to supply electricity for this project.
