Thailand's import and export volumes have soared to their highest point in four years, propelled by a heightened demand for electronic product exports and an influx of raw materials, machinery, and equipment imports. Concurrently, Thailand is actively pursuing a trade agreement with the United States. Data released by Thailand's Ministry of Commerce on Monday revealed that the country's export value in January experienced a significant year-on-year increase of 24.4%, while import value surged by 29.4% year-on-year. Both figures far surpassed economists' expectations and marked the fastest growth rate since the end of 2021. The director of Thailand's Office of Trade Policy and Strategy commented that the export surge underscores the fact that the demand for electronic products associated with artificial intelligence and data centers is currently in an "upward trajectory."
