EU regulatory bodies have launched a thorough investigation into the Chinese cross-border e-commerce giant Shein, in accordance with the Digital Services Act. The probe stems from concerns that the platform may be facilitating the sale of items such as sex dolls bearing a resemblance to children, which could potentially be classified as child sexual abuse material. The European Commission has clarified that the investigation's primary focus is to ascertain whether the platform has been involved in the dissemination or distribution of illegal and detrimental goods and content.
