The U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is accelerating its antitrust review of Microsoft, investigating whether the company has illegally monopolized the enterprise computing market through its cloud software and artificial intelligence products. In recent weeks, the FTC has issued civil investigative demands to at least six of Microsoft's competitors in the commercial software and cloud computing markets, questioning Microsoft's licensing and other business practices, and seeking evidence to prove that Microsoft intentionally made it difficult for customers to use its products on competitors' cloud services. Additionally, the FTC has requested information on Microsoft's bundling of software such as artificial intelligence into products like Windows and Office.
