Reuters reported on February 12, citing four anonymous sources, that the Trump administration has shelved a series of critical technology security measures targeting China ahead of the April meeting between the leaders of the two countries. These measures include banning Chinese telecommunications companies from operating in the U.S., restricting the sale of Chinese equipment in U.S. data centers, and suspending the sales ban on TP-Link routers in the U.S., as well as the ban on China Unicom and China Mobile from conducting internet business in the U.S. Additionally, the ban on selling Chinese electric trucks and buses in the U.S. has also been shelved.
