Recently, Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. has submitted applications to register a series of trademarks, encompassing names such as 'Huawei Energy' and 'Huawei Digital Energy'. These trademarks span a diverse range of international classifications and are presently in the queue for substantive examination.
Huawei's subsidiary, Huawei Digital Energy Technology Co., Ltd., zeroes in on three key sectors and offers corresponding solutions. Earlier, market speculation had swirled around the possibility of Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited (CATL) acquiring Huawei Digital Energy. Sources close to the matter disclosed that both companies had engaged in discussions regarding this potential transaction, with CATL expressing interest in acquiring a roughly 20% stake.
However, several staff members from Huawei Digital Energy reported that on the evening of February 5, the company issued an internal notice stating that it would no longer pursue the sale. This effectively put an end to the acquisition rumors. Such a move also underscores Huawei's bullish outlook on the energy market's future, as well as its prudent yet resolute strategy in diversifying its business portfolio.
