According to the data released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on the communications industry's performance in the first three quarters of 2025, by the end of September, China's cumulative number of 5G base stations had soared to 4.705 million. This figure not only sets a new record but also constitutes 36.6% of the total mobile base stations nationwide. When compared to the end of 2024, an impressive 455,000 additional 5G base stations were deployed in the first three quarters of 2025, marking a 0.9 percentage point increase in their proportion. Remarkably, China's 5G base station count now exceeds 60% of the global total. Concurrently, the 5G user base has witnessed exponential growth. By the end of September, the total mobile phone user count had reached 1.828 billion, reflecting a net increase of 37.95 million from the previous year's end. Within this user base, 5G mobile phone users numbered 1.167 billion, up by 153 million from the previous year's end, accounting for a substantial 63.9%.
