On October 24, Ericsson and Vodafone made a significant announcement, revealing the formation of a five-year strategic partnership. As part of this collaboration, Ericsson is set to become Vodafone's sole RAN (Radio Access Network) provider in Ireland, the Netherlands, and Portugal. Furthermore, Ericsson will persist in its role as Vodafone's primary RAN supplier in Germany, Romania, and Egypt. Under the terms of the agreement, Vodafone will undertake a widespread deployment of Ericsson's cutting-edge and Open RAN-compatible wireless products, including Massive MIMO technology, alongside RAN Compute solutions and 5G Advanced RAN software, across its networks in these specified markets.
