On October 23 (local time), a collaborative announcement was made by OpenAI, Oracle, and Vantage Data Centers—a provider specializing in hyperscale data center campuses. They declared their decision to choose Port Washington, Wisconsin, as the location for constructing a large-scale data center campus.

This campus forms a crucial part of the 'Stargate' project. Its primary objective is to meet the computing demands of artificial intelligence by establishing cutting-edge data center infrastructure. This endeavor will play a significant role in enabling the United States to sustain its leading edge in the fierce global competition surrounding artificial intelligence.

The project is projected to incur a cost of $15 billion. It will encompass the construction of four highly advanced data centers, collectively offering a power capacity of around 1,000 megawatts. Completion of the project is expected by 2028.
