The Completion and Large-Scale Expansion Exchange Meeting for the world's inaugural demonstration project of a seabed data center directly integrated with offshore wind power was triumphantly convened in Lingang, Shanghai. During the event, Wu Xiaohua, Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee for the Lingang Special Area, unveiled a plaque designating the site as an "International Data Center Edge Computing Node". This project marks a pivotal achievement in fostering multi-sectoral integration within the Lingang Special Area. It showcases remarkable benefits in terms of environmentally friendly and low-carbon operations, alongside enhanced collaborative computing capabilities and power supply efficiency. The project has earned recognition by being selected for numerous demonstration initiatives, establishing itself as a paragon of "zero-carbon computing power". This endeavor is poised to assist Shanghai in surmounting obstacles related to computing capacity and energy constraints, while fostering multi-faceted integration and innovation. Looking ahead, the Shanghai Lingang Seabed Data Center is set to merge with deep-sea and distant-shore wind farms to construct an even more expansive computing power hub. Several entities, including Hailan Cloud, have entered into agreements to jointly embark on a strategic partnership aimed at developing a 500-megawatt seabed data center directly connected to offshore wind power, thereby propelling the project's large-scale expansion forward.
