On Monday, Amazon Web Services (AWS) encountered operational issues, causing hundreds of websites and applications to report service disruptions or outages. Currently, Amazon engineers are working to contain the impact and identify the cause, with 28 services already affected. DownDetector reports indicate that dozens of major websites, including Amazon, Venmo, Hulu, McDonald's, Coinbase, and others, are experiencing problems. Several companies have stated that the root cause lies with AWS. Both Coinbase and the AI startup Perplexity have confirmed being affected and are actively addressing the issue.
