South Korea’s Semiconductor Exports Hit US$16.62 Billion in September, Soaring 21.9% Year-on-Year

On the 14th, data released by South Korea’s Ministry of Science and ICT revealed that the country’s exports of information and communication technology (ICT) products soared to US$25.43 billion in September, marking a 14% year-on-year increase and reaching an all-time high. Among these, semiconductor exports stood out, climbing to US$16.62 billion—a 21.9% year-on-year surge and setting a new record for the second consecutive month. Display exports also saw a modest uptick, rising 1.3% year-on-year to US$1.92 billion. In contrast, exports of mobile phone components declined by 23.6%, totaling US$1.07 billion, while finished mobile phone exports jumped 55.8% year-on-year to reach US$420 million. Additionally, exports of computers and peripheral equipment fell by 10.1% year-on-year, amounting to US$1.47 billion.
