On September 18, reports emerged indicating that NVIDIA is planning a $5 billion investment in Intel, with the two companies set to collaborate on developing customized data center and personal computing solutions. Under this partnership, Intel will design and tailor x86 CPUs specifically for NVIDIA, which will then integrate these processors into its AI infrastructure platform. Furthermore, Intel will create a system-on-chip (SoC) to drive personal computers built around NVIDIA’s chiplet architecture. Jensen Huang, NVIDIA’s CEO, emphasized that this alliance would tightly weave NVIDIA’s AI and accelerated computing capabilities with Intel’s CPUs and its expansive x86 ecosystem.
